Four years in the making – carefully forged between 2011 and 2014 -, De Aeris In Sublunaria Influxu showcases a magically crafted alchemy between these two titans of the drone and ambient realms.

Troum navigate through cavernous, subterranean spaces where cyclical sounds reverberate towards impressive crescendos of icy noise, luminous drones and dramatic, guitar-driven ghostly melodies. Their truly unique gorgeous soundscapes shine in a perfect symbiotic movement with the Swedish dark ambient maestro Peter Andersson. Engulfed in a hauntingly beautiful kaleidoscope of grey-ish melancholia, raison d’être comfortably walks deeply into Troum’s vast territory, delivering his very own trademark of eerie tones, ominous sacral ambience and crystal clear constructions.

Airy lush enigmatic atmospheres live together with dark breathing, reverberate transformative drones. Rich and gorgeously layered.

Mastered using the K-14 level standard, the album comes lavishly assembled in a custom, sturdy 6-panel digisleeve packaging with amazing minimal artwork by the award-winning Spanish designer Ritxi Ostáriz. Limited to 700 copies.

Comprised of cEvin Key, Ken 'hiwatt' Marshall & Traz Damji, Scaremeister is a dark and deeply haunting approach to the horror/thriller film genre. Consisting of 31 unique “mini-scores” of original sound design, the work is equally compelling as individual tracks or as an album. 31 Spirits is guaranteed to disturb.

“Scaremeister is a project and partnership with two of my best friends and long-term collaborators, cEvin Key and Traz Damji. We made a deal with Groove Addicts in 2007 (now Non-Stop Music/Warner Chappell), to compose a 'volume' of film trailer cues for horror movies. The following year we produced 31 cues that were very well received by the film community, being placed in many film trailers, including: Inglorious Bastards, Transformers II, My Bloody Valentine, Book of Eli and Halloween 2 (just to name a few). With the ongoing success of Volume One within the film industry, we decided to release these works to the public so they can be heard outside theaters! in 1996, Thorofon was launched and has grown to become one of the most remarkable projects in the German power noise/industrial movement, and with its 20th anniversary on the horizon, the time has come to present an exceptional celebratory release for the constant and faithful listeners all around the globe. 

The main components of 'Roots' are archival ones from the last two decades, featuring unreleased material and compilation tracks as well as technically updated reinterpretations of past sonic assaults, a fact which is hard to believe while listening to this monolithic release. It succeeds in turning the past into the present in a most astounding way.

'Roots' skillfully combines the brightness and wide palate of today's recording possibilities with the oppressive darkness of a bygone musical era including frozen surgical ambiance, unsettling canalized noise and distorted, straight rhythmic sequences. The ingredients of vintage industrial music, cold power electronics and menacing electronic body music coalesce in a most perfect way - a trademark Thorofon has been well-known for throughout the last two decades.

WELTSCHMERZ is a newly established music project by joost gransjean, the mastermind behind mono-amine. as a basis for this new endeavour, joost has used a feeling of melancholy towards humanity as a race for not reaching their full potential, a feeling of longing for a better world which will never come. human decay and its consequences also became an important topic for this project's first album whose title 'the norwood scale' comes from the corresponding set of images depicting the different stages of male pattern hair loss.

WELTSCHMERZ sonically is about the power that basic rhythmic music can have, a power that is beyond language - slow, moving and massive in its minimalism and strength of tone and flow. 'the norwood scale' features ten highly energetic tracks of repetitive concise beats and precisely positioned pad strikes underlaying hypnotic ambient noisescapes. continual loops referring to technoid, experimental and industrial origins generate an irresistible undertow activating both body and mind.

Herbst9 : Ušumgal Kalamma [2011]

It’s difficult for me to accurately express my tremendous admiration for this project. Herbst9 are one of the few remaining envoys of communication from civilisations past, carrying into the 21st century a musical dedication and interpretation of the true tenets and beliefs of Sumer. Since the genesis of this enterprise, Henry Emich and Frank Merten have never faltered in producing some of the finest works the ritual ambient genre has ever seen. Ušumgal Kalamma [Dragon of the Land] is no different and this time round we are greeted with a full double album of original material to close the Mesopotamian trilogy that started with “Buried Under Time and Sand”.

I have no reservation in saying that Ušumgal Kalamma is the finest of the three albums: it’s a refined, mature and reverential gift to the present day, born from unending research, respect and fascination for the past. But unlike others who use ancient civilisation purely as an inspiration, Hersbt9 seems to have been birthed directly from it. There is something so genuine and unquestionably sincere about this project which makes the orthodoxy of its sound so effective and compelling.
